Our Mission
BEAR Hub (Behavior Energy Action and Research) applies behavioral science to boost energy program success in transportation, buildings, and industry. We provide behavioral science resources and expertise to professionals leading programs in these sectors. We aim to reduce energy consumption and fight climate change while demonstrating the value of applied behavioral science.
Organization
BEAR Hub is an initiative of the Behavior, Health, and Human Dimensions Program at the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE). ACEEE works to transform and optimize how we use energy throughout the economy. We see energy efficiency as key to rapidly and equitably combating climate change while improving our economic well-being.
ACEEE’s Behavior, Health and Human Dimensions team is led by a director who serves on the boards of two academic journals on behavioral science. Team members have presented at the G20 energy working group and the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine, among other convenings. The team co-chairs the Behavior, Energy, and Climate Change (BECC) conference, the foremost conference on this topic.
